What Is Mobile Grooming?
It is professional grooming self-contained in a custom van that arrives at your door to take care of your pet’s grooming needs. Mobile pet grooming is preferred by most of today’s busy pet owners. The convenience for you and the exclusive attention for your pet make it desirable to use a mobile dog grooming service.
The mobile grooming salon is equipped with a 1200 Amp Lithium Battery pack that furnishes electricity to the Salon, dryer, table, lights and more!
A hot water heater ensures the perfect bath temperature for your pet!

Mobile grooming is a door to door service.
It is convenient. You have no prep time & no hassle getting your pet ready for a day at the groomer’s.
With curbside service at your home or office, there is no need to put your pet in the car and drive in unpredictable traffic to the salon.
No need to rearrange your busy schedule for drop off and pick up of your pet.
It is a clean and sanitary environment. We clean the mobile grooming spa thoroughly between pets and between visits. You no longer have to worry about sharing cages, germs or parasites.
It provides a stress free environment for your pet. Grooming services are performed right outside your door in a cage free setting. Your pet receives individual attention for the whole visit.

Where Does Ruff Life Go?
Ruff Life Dog Spa proudly provides mobile grooming services throughout South Maui, including Kihei and Wailea with limited availability in Central Maui (Kahului and Wailuku).
Because appointments are scheduled by location and route, availability may vary depending on your area.
At this time, we do not service West Maui, Upcountry, Paia, or Haiku.

Please note: Alternate grooming locations must be within our established service area and approved in advance. We do not offer halfway meetups or roadside appointments.
Do You Need Electricity Or Water?
No, our van is a completely self-contained unit. Our van is fully equipped with a 1200 watt Lithium Battery/Inverter System for electricity. The unit is always climate controlled. We carry 50 gallons of fresh water.
Can I see Inside the Salon?
Absolutely! You're warmly invited to step inside the mobile grooming salon and take a look around! It's fully equipped with everything needed to provide your pet with a safe, comfortable, and professional grooming experience ~ right at your doorstep. Feel free to ask questions or take a peek before your pets appointment begins.

Instead of you driving to us, we come directly to your home or office, saving you time and minimizing stress for your pet. Your pet receives one-on-one attention in a quiet, familiar environment ~ no cages, and no waiting.
Behind the scenes, a mobile grooming unit is essentially a fully-equipped, climate-controlled grooming salon on wheels. It requires significant investment in specialized equipment, regular maintenance, fuel, and insurance. In addition, we schedule fewer pets per day so we can give each one our full attention ~ which means your pet isn't rushed through the process. The slightly higher cost reflects the added convenience, comfort, and care your pet receives. For many pet parents, it's a worthwhile investment in their pet's well being.

Absolutely! While our mobile salon normally comes right to your doorstep, we understand that another location may sometimes be more convenient.
Whether it's a friend's home, a family member's home, or your workplace, alternate locations may be arranged with advance notice. All locations must be safe, accessible, within our established service area, and approved in advance.
Please note: We do not offer roadside meetups, parking lot appointments, or halfway meeting locations to accommodate clients living outside our service area.
If you have an alternate location in mind, just ask! We're happy to see what we can arrange within our service area.
Do I Need To Be Home For The Appointment?

For your pet's first mobile grooming appointment, we kindly ask that you be home. This helps ensure a smooth introduction, allows us to discuss your pet's needs, and gives your pet comfort knowing you're nearby.
After the first appointment if you need to leave or can not be present we will be happy to help accommodate your needs.

What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?
We gladly accept cash, checks, Zelle, and Apple Pay. Credit cards are not accepted.
Payment is due immediately upon completion of grooming services. If you will not be home when your pet"s grooming is completed, payment arrangements must be made in advance.
All services are subject to Hawaii General Excise Tax (GET).

Ruff Life Dog Spa is a one woman show! Between grooming appointments, traveling to my wonderful clients, and keeping everything running smoothly, I'm not always able to answer calls or messages right away.
My regular business days are Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays reserved for a little rest and relaxation! 🌺
I do my very best to respond to everyone as promptly as possible during business days. Messages received after hours or on my days off will generally be answered when I'm back to work.

What is Your Cancellation Policy?
How Accurate Are Appointment Times?
We know life happens and sometimes plans change! 🐾 If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us 24-48 hours notice so we have an opportunity to fill your appointment.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will incur an $85 cancellation fee.
If we arrive for your scheduled appointment and your pup isn't available, the FULL grooming charge will apply. After all, we've reserved that time especially for your furry friend!

We do our very best to arrive on time! However, when working with animals, unexpected delays can occasionally happen. Traffic, weather, or a previous appointment requiring a little extra TLC may affect our arrival time.
For this reason, we allow a 30 minute arrival window when necessary.
For example, if your appointment is scheduled for 9:00 AM, please have your pup ready at 9:00 AM. While we aim to arrive at that time, unforeseen circumstances may occasionally delay our arrival until 9:30 AM.
If we are running behind, we'll do our best to keep you informed.

Why Don't You Offer Online Booking?
As a mobile grooming service, I personally coordinate my schedule and routes to minimize travel time between appointments. This allows me to operate efficiently while providing each dog with the personalized one-on-one attention they deserve. All appointments are scheduled directly with me to ensure the best possible availability and routing.
Do You Groom Large Dogs?
Due to physical limitations after many years in the grooming profession, my mobile salon only accommodates smaller dogs.
The physical demands of handling larger dogs, including lifting, restraining and maneuvering, have become too strenuous. This policy helps ensure the safety and comfort of both your pet and myself while maintaining the highest standard of care.
Can You Groom My Dog if They've Never Been Professionally Groomed Before?
Dogs 5 months and older that have never been professionally groomed are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Grooming at home is not the same as a professional grooming experience.
Dogs unfamiliar with professional grooming have difficulty with tolerating clippers, dryers, nail trimming, and handling. For the safety of your pet and the groomer, services may be modified, discontinued, or declined depending on the dog"s behavior. Charges will apply for grooming time and services performed, even if the groom cannot be completed.
Please disclose any lack of professional grooming experience when requesting an appointment.
